Procida on foot — the half-day loop

Marina Grande to Terra Murata to Corricella to Chiaiolella — three hours, three beaches, one fortress.

Procida on foot — the half-day loop

The loop

Off the Caremar ferry, walk up the Salita Castello to Terra Murata — the medieval fortified town with the abbey of San Michele and a view back to Vesuvio. Twenty minutes uphill.

Drop down to Marina Corricella — the pastel harbour from The Talented Mr Ripley — for an espresso. Then cross the island via the dirt road past Vivara nature reserve to the wide sandy Chiaiolella beach. Bus 1 takes you back to Marina Grande.

Where to stay

Our homes in Procida

The smallest island in the Gulf, Italian Capital of Culture 2022 — a pastel fishing village that still feels lived-in rather than performed.

There's no single right answer. The right transfer depends on your luggage, your group size, when you arrive, and where on the coast you're staying.
