Driving the SS163 — when and how
Italy's most beautiful road has 1,400 curves and an even number of headaches. Some rules.

Things to know before you drive
The road is one lane in each direction with frequent passing-restricted sections. Tour buses have right of way on blind curves — you'll reverse to a wider point. Don't take a car wider than 2m.
Parking everywhere is paid and limited. Reserve at your hotel; otherwise plan to leave the car at a paid lot in Amalfi (~€25/day) and walk.
Off-season (November to March): drive freely. Summer weekends: the road becomes a single-file queue between 11:00 and 18:00. Plan around it.

PracticalNaples airport to the Amalfi Coast — the four real options
There's no single right answer. The right transfer depends on your luggage, your group size, when you arrive, and where on the coast you're staying.
