The Amalfi Coast on a real budget

Not 'budget' in the bloggers' sense, but real — €120/night, €25 dinners, €0 to swim.

The Amalfi Coast on a real budget

Where to base + what to skip

Sleep in Vietri sul Mare, Cetara, Maiori, or Minori — €120–180/night for a sea-view B&B vs €450 in Positano. Travel by ferry and SITA bus, not by car.

Eat at trattorias one block in from the seafront (Antica Trattoria Tre Mete in Atrani, Cumpa' Cosimo in Ravello). Pizza in the village squares. The €0 part: beaches at Marina di Praia, Furore, Minori, Cetara are all free.

Where to stay

Our homes in Amalfi

The maritime republic that gave the coast its name — a striped duomo, paper mills tucked in a wooded gorge, and the quiet center of the Costiera.

Naples airport to the Amalfi Coast — the four real options

There's no single right answer. The right transfer depends on your luggage, your group size, when you arrive, and where on the coast you're staying.

Driving the SS163 — when and how

The Amalfi coastal road was carved into the cliff in the 19th century for ox carts. The driving rules haven't fully caught up to modern SUVs.
