Campania with kids — a seven-day plan

Base in Sorrento

Sorrento is the most kid-friendly town on the bay — flat centre, gelaterias everywhere, ferries to everything, two pedestrian beaches with shallow water. The Circumvesuviana to Pompeii is 25 minutes; the ferry to Capri 30 minutes.

Days 1–2: Sorrento centre, Bagni della Regina Giovanna. Day 3: Pompei (morning only). Day 4: Capri (whole day). Day 5: Ferry to Positano. Day 6: Path of the Lemons walk (Maiori to Minori, flat, 45 min). Day 7: rest day, gelato, pool.

Where to stay

Our homes in Sorrento

The classic balcony over the Bay of Naples — citrus groves, belle-époque hotels, and the easiest gateway to Capri, Pompeii, and the Amalfi Coast.

Three days in Naples, without the queues

How a local plans a long weekend in the centro storico — which churches, which alleys, which sfogliatelle, and which two streets to skip on a Saturday night.

    Ravello in 24 hours

Most visitors do Ravello as a day trip from Amalfi. Sleep one night and the village is yours from 18:00 to 10:00 the next morning.
