Anacapri or Capri — which side to stay on

Same island, two very different villages. A short, honest comparison.

Anacapri or Capri — which side to stay on

Which suits which trip

Capri town: short trip, want to be near the Piazzetta, willing to pay for it, like high-end shops. The funicular runs from the port; you don't need a car.

Anacapri: longer stay, want a quieter base, planning to hike Monte Solaro and the western coast. Bus to Capri town takes 15 minutes; restaurants are cheaper.

Where to stay

Our homes in Capri

The legendary Tiberian island — Faraglioni sea stacks, the Blue Grotto, and a Piazzetta where the day's gossip has stayed the same since the 1950s.
