South of the Amalfi Coast — the Cilento
Where Campania's south coast goes wild — empty beaches, two Greek temples, and a UNESCO national park most travellers skip.

Paestum first
The three Greek temples at Paestum (5th century BC) are the best-preserved in Europe, better than most things still standing in Greece. The site is open 8:30–19:30, €15 with museum, walk-up tickets fine in shoulder season.
Drive south from Paestum and the coast empties: Acciaroli, Pioppi, Castellabate. Stop wherever a beach looks good — most are public, free, and have a single bar serving fritto misto.
