Tracce Festival 2026: The Amalfi Coast's New Hiking-and-Culture Festival, Through September

The festival opened on 30 August with a Walter Ricci concert on Positano's Marina Grande beach. From there, the evening programme continues on 6 September with '900 – Musica, Teatro, Cultura & Wine Experience' at La Gavitella in Praiano; on 19 September with 'Cantata Popolare,' a set led by Neapolitan folk musician Carlo Faiello and his ensemble in Montepertuso, the hill hamlet above Positano; and closes on 26 September with actress Claudia Gerini performing alongside the Solis String Quartet in Praiano's Piazza San Luca.

Daytime 'sentieri tematici' run in between the evening dates — themed walks built around hiking, gastronomy and wellness, including a 'Pop-up Choir' and forest-bathing sessions staged on Praiano's terraces. Several of the evening concerts sit inside town squares that are free to walk into; ticket terms for the paid experiences weren't fully published at the time of writing, so it's worth checking each town's own event listings — Amalfi's municipal site or the towns' Comune pages — closer to the date. Because the dates spread across four towns rather than clustering in one, the festival rewards a stay with a car or reliable SITA bus connections along the coast road, rather than a single base. Positano and Praiano sit a short drive or bus ride apart, and Montepertuso is a steep but short climb above Positano's centre — worth arranging a taxi for the return after an evening concert. Late September also lands after the coast's most crowded weeks, when trail conditions on routes like the Path of the Gods are cooler and buses less packed.

Naples' Capodichino airport and the Salerno and Sorrento ferry ports remain the main ways in; from either, the coast road or a hydrofoil to Amalfi or Positano connects onward to any of the four festival towns within about an hour.
