The Museo Archeologico dei Campi Flegrei, set inside the Aragonese Castello di Baia in the town of Bacoli, is staying open into the evening every Saturday from 6 June through 29 August 2026, with last entry at 21:00 and closing at 22:00, according to the official Parco Archeologico dei Campi Flegrei site, with the schedule also confirmed by Napolike and Napoli da Vivere.
The castle sits on a headland with an open terrace looking straight across the Gulf of Pozzuoli, and the evening openings add an aperitivo point on that terrace — a reason to treat the museum as a sunset stop rather than only a daytime detour from Naples.
Hours, prices, and the MyCastello card
Full admission is €5, reduced to €2 for EU visitors aged 18 to 25, and free under 18. Anyone planning repeat visits to the Campi Flegrei sites this year can buy the MyCastello Card for €10, which covers unlimited entry to the castle for twelve months — worth it for residents or long-stay visitors more than a single trip.
The museum itself holds finds from across the Campi Flegrei — the volcanic area west of Naples that includes Pozzuoli, Cuma, and the submerged Roman ruins of the Parco Sommerso — making the castle as much an archaeology stop as a viewpoint.
Getting there from Naples
The Cumana railway line from Naples Montesanto runs to Fusaro or Baia station, from where the castle is a short uphill walk or taxi ride; EAV buses also connect Bacoli to central Naples. Because the openings run only on Saturdays through late August, it's worth checking the Cumana's evening timetable before setting out, since frequency drops after dinner hours.
Pairing it with dinner in Bacoli or nearby Pozzuoli — both known for seafood trattorie along the waterfront — turns a Saturday evening out of Naples into a full outing rather than a quick detour.
