Naples to Hurghada: New Wizz Air Direct Flight Launches December 2026
Wizz Air adds a second scheduled carrier and a third weekly slot on the Naples–Hurghada route from 2 December, with launch fares from €45.99.
What is the new Naples–Hurghada route, and when does it start?
Wizz Air confirmed on 1 August 2026 — first reported by Napolitan.it and picked up by SudNotizie — that it will open a direct route between Naples Capodichino and Hurghada, on Egypt's Red Sea coast, starting 2 December 2026. It's a separate launch from the airline's four new Spanish routes out of Naples that same December, part of the same wave of expansion at Capodichino but a genuinely different kind of trip: a scheduled line to winter sun and diving rather than a European city break.
The route isn't Naples' first connection to Hurghada — Air Cairo already flies it, roughly once a week — but Wizz Air's arrival triples the scheduled frequency and puts a well-known low-cost brand's pricing on a route that has mostly been the territory of charter packages and Egyptian carriers.
Schedule, fares, and flight time
The Wizz Air service runs three times a week — Wednesday, Friday and Sunday — from 2 December 2026, with launch fares from €45.99 one-way. Tickets are on sale now through wizzair.com and the WIZZ app. The nonstop flight covers roughly 2,500km and takes about three hours twenty-five minutes, comparable to a flight to the Canary Islands and well under half the time of reaching Egypt's Red Sea via a connection through Rome, Milan or Cairo.
As with any newly announced low-cost route, the quoted launch fares apply to the earliest available dates; expect them to climb as December approaches and again around the Christmas and New Year weeks, which are peak demand for Italians escaping the cold for Red Sea sun.
What to check before booking
A Wizz Air fare is flight-only, unlike the package holidays that have traditionally covered this route, so entry formalities are on the traveler to sort out: Italian citizens need an Egyptian visa, either arranged in advance as an e-visa through Egypt's official portal or bought on arrival at Hurghada airport, typically around $25. It's worth applying for the e-visa a few days ahead rather than relying solely on the arrival queue during the busy December-holiday window.
December sits in Hurghada's mild season — warm days, cooler evenings, and none of the summer's high heat — which is part of why the route's timing works for Italian travelers: it's a direct, three-and-a-half-hour hop from Naples to beach weather in the same month Campania turns properly cold.
