New restaurants in Naples 2026: Casa 50 and Scicchitano's second address
The 50 Kalò group opens its first restaurant beyond pizza at Piazza Sannazaro, while Giuseppe Scicchitano's glossier second dining room behind Santa Lucia is still flying under most visitors' radar.
Casa 50: the 50 Kalò group's first restaurant beyond pizza
Casa 50 opened this month at Piazza Sannazaro, in the space that used to be Fratelli La Bufala — the same square where the first 50 Kalò pizzeria started more than a decade ago. The homecoming is the point: this is the group's first proper restaurant rather than another pizzeria, a sit-down dining room instead of another oven. Chef Giovanni Sorrentino runs the kitchen, and the menu is Mediterranean.
The seats to want are on the terrace under the palms, on the Mergellina side of the square. That terrace is the reason to book ahead rather than walk in, particularly on summer evenings when the whole neighbourhood is out. The opening was first reported by NapoliToday and Il Mattino; as with any restaurant in its first weeks, expect the room to still be finding its rhythm.
What is Scicchitano's new restaurant on Via Nazario Sauro like?
Giuseppe Scicchitano, the seafood cook who built a following on social media before he built dining rooms, opened his second restaurant back in February, on Via Nazario Sauro behind Santa Lucia. It is bigger and glossier than the original spot on Via Foria: around 130 covers, a private room done out with Laurent-Perrier that seats eight, and a main dining room that looks straight across the bay to Vesuvius.
Months on, most visitors still haven't caught up with it — the address moves on local word of mouth more than on guidebooks. That works in your favour: the extra covers make a table easier to land than at the smaller Via Foria original, and the view across the bay does not depend on which night you pick.
Where the two addresses are, and when to book
Both addresses sit on the seaward side of the city rather than in the centro storico. Casa 50 faces Piazza Sannazaro at Mergellina; Scicchitano is behind Santa Lucia on Via Nazario Sauro, where the bay opens up toward Vesuvius. If your evening plan is a walk along the water, either one ends it well.
Practical notes: book ahead for Casa 50, and ask for the terrace when you do — it is the point of the place, and July is not the month to leave it to chance. Scicchitano's larger room gives you more slack, though the Laurent-Perrier private room for eight is worth asking about ahead of time if you have a celebration in mind. Either way, check for a table before you set out.
