Palazzo Petrucci Opens a New Seafront Pizzeria in Posillipo, Naples
Cucina Lievitata, the Michelin-starred group's pizza-only offshoot, opened in late July with ten sea-view tables and a terrace aperitivo bar.
What is Cucina Lievitata?
Palazzo Petrucci — the Naples restaurant group whose flagship in San Domenico Maggiore holds a Michelin star — opened a pizza-focused offshoot on the Posillipo seafront around 20 July 2026, first reported by Scattidigusto. Named Cucina Lievitata, it sits at Via Posillipo 16C, next to the group's existing Posillipo restaurant, and is run by pizzaiolo Davide Ruotolo, who trained at Palazzo Petrucci's central Naples pizzeria in San Domenico Maggiore.
Ten tables are set aside specifically for the sea view — a terrace looking across the bay toward Vesuvius, Castel dell'Ovo, Capri, and the Sorrento peninsula — with the rest of the space built around an aperitivo bar run by bartender Fabrizio Scudieri, for evenings when a full sit-down pizza isn't the plan.
Prices and what to order
Pizzas range from €6 for a marinara to €10 for the Bufalina del Vesuvio or a quattro formaggi — in line with a casual sit-down pizzeria, not the tasting-menu prices of Palazzo Petrucci's main dining room. The aperitivo terrace is the part worth timing deliberately: arrive before sunset on a clear evening for the Vesuvius view the location is built around.
Getting there from central Naples
Via Posillipo runs along the coast west of Mergellina; from the centro storico it's roughly a 20-minute drive or taxi ride, or a bus (C31 or 140) along the seafront if you'd rather skip Posillipo's limited parking. Pair it with a walk along Via Posillipo itself before or after dinner — the road runs above the water for most of its length, with viewpoints down to the fishing hamlet of Marechiaro along the way.
