What is 'Il Panda siamo noi', and where is it at the Reggia?
To mark WWF Italy's 60th anniversary, the photography exhibition Il Panda siamo noi ("We Are the Panda") opened at the Reggia di Caserta on 17 July 2026 and runs through 31 August. It's set up around the Casa del Giardiniere in the Giardino Inglese — the English Garden at the far end of the palace grounds, a good 20-minute walk past the fountains and the Diana and Actaeon cascade. Photographers Alessandro Dobici, Alberto Cambone and Roberto Isotti paired twelve well-known Italian actors and performers — among them Sabrina Ferilli, Virginia Raffaele and Maria Grazia Cucinotta — with portraits of endangered species, each posed to mirror the animal's gaze; a further section, 'Vanishing Beauty', shows 32 straight wildlife portraits.
Entry is included in the standard Reggia di Caserta ticket — no separate charge or booking for the exhibition itself, just the walk out to the English Garden once inside. First reported by CasertaNews and the Reggia's own press office, with details corroborated by WWF Italia.
Is it worth building into a Caserta day trip?
The English Garden is already one of the more rewarding, least-crowded corners of the Reggia grounds — an 18th-century landscape garden with a small lake, mock ruins and rare plants, a good 25-minute walk beyond the main fountain axis most visitors stop at. Since the exhibition closes 31 August, this only suits trips in the next few weeks; the garden itself stays open regardless. Caserta is a straightforward day trip from Naples: direct trains take around 40 minutes from Napoli Centrale, and the palace entrance sits directly across the square from Caserta's station.
Pair it with the Alba alla Reggia sunrise opening on 29 August if the dates line up, though that's a separate, ticketed event.
