Capridrama Opera Festival 2026: Dates, Venues, and the "Opera on the Sea" Night on Capri
The island's second annual opera festival stages performances in the Piazzetta, Villa Lysis, the Certosa di San Giacomo, aboard a boat at sunset, and closes at Villa San Michele through 11 September.

What is the Capridrama Opera Festival, and when does it run in 2026?
Capridrama is a site-specific opera festival produced and financed by the Città di Capri, conceived by Filippo Rotondo and Renato Ocone. Its second edition runs from 19 August to 11 September 2026, with performances spread across some of the island's most recognisable settings: the Piazzetta, Villa Lysis, the Certosa di San Giacomo, and — for one performance — a boat at sea, as reported by Isola di Capri Portal and Capri Press.
What's the highlight performance?
"Opera on the Sea," staged on 4 September, puts the audience aboard a boat at sunset for a performance out on the water — a format built specifically around Capri's setting rather than a concert hall. The festival closes on 10 and 11 September with performances of Pergolesi's "Livietta e Tracollo" at Villa San Michele in Anacapri, the hilltop house built by Axel Munthe that already draws visitors for its gardens and views over the Bay of Naples.
How do I catch a performance?
With the festival running through 11 September, there's still a window to plan around it for a late-summer Capri trip. Venues alternate between Capri town and Anacapri, so check which night matches which location before booking dinner or a place to stay nearby — the boat performance in particular is likely to have limited capacity, so it's worth checking the festival's official channels for tickets and the current schedule closer to your travel dates.
